Sniffing is so important for your dog. Establishing my LTS allows them to sniff and take in important information while also learning to walk perfectly on a leash. 

Most dogs only tolerate being pet on top of the head and it can come across as aggressive and threatening. ONLY when a dog is comfortable with you can you pet the top of their head and even then some may never really like it.
